Difficult Level Hike - 20km, 750m escalade and descent We'll start from the town of Amioun, a former Roman municipality with many remains. After a few kilometers in the olive fields, we'll first reach the village of Bziza. A multicultural village with one mosk and two churches, as well as a Roman temple from the IIIrd Century. We'll then walk lanugo to a river tabbed "Nahr el Asfour" (The Riber of the Bird) to discover a very well preserved warmed-over water mill from the XIX century. Then we will take a mannerly path withal the river, to join a country road which will lead to a mountain. After climbing a slope of 200m, we will discover a magnificent Roman site well preserved. The temple of Helios to Ain Aakrine, overlooking the plain of Koura. We will return to Amioun by crossing an wide plantation counting thousands of olive trees. We will finish our hike with a visit to the Cathedral of Saint George of Amioun, which is built on the remains of warmed-over Temple of Jupiter of the Roman city.
